Nearly there

Just four more nights and then I'll be able to see the little peanut that has made me so uncomfortable in the last several months.  The C-section is scheduled for 7:30am on Tuesday, May 1.  I'm very excited!

Counting Down

It's hard to believe that I'm down to 11 days before the BIG DAY! I'm ready... and then, I'm not.

I had such great plans for sewing before going into the hospital, but that hasn't panned out as planned. Right now, I'm just trying to get on top of the laundry, dishes and massive clutter around the house. I'm still waiting for that burst of energy pregnant woman reportedly experience toward the end of pregnancy.

I'm still trying to finish an order of dolls that I had hoped to finish at the beginning of April. I don't think I have to go anywhere tomorrow, so I will work on getting the clothes cranked out as quickly as possible. I also have a couple of quilt swaps that I need to finish next week. The original plan was to take my machine in to get serviced while I'm in the hospital, but finances have turned a bit more sour. The tape is still working marvelously in keeping the stitch length regular and I found the correct needle for sewing on knit. I guess I'll just plod along the best I can until things improve.

The ladies in my church threw a baby shower for me this week. They were all so excited! Our church is mostly made up of retired people, so there aren't many baby showers happening. I got so many nice gifts, with the biggest one being a Sit and Stand stroller from Baby Trend.

This will be perfect when the kids and I go to the parks or library this summer. Abigail just isn't up to making the walks without them taking an hour long. This stroller is so nice. It moves smoothly, isn't much bigger than our single stroller when folded up, has a tall handle, and has plenty of room for a long stride (which Brian always complained about with our other stroller).

I was also given a really nice diaper bag (saves me from making one with the time I no longer have), onesie and socks, cloth diapers, a basket for the baby (I just need to add handles to make it like a Moses basket), a couple of blankets, a gift card to Fred Meyer, and several small baby essentials to go in the diaper bag. Oh, and one of the ladies is making a couple of baby slings after she can get the pattern which goes on sale next week. I have been very blessed by everyone's love and generosity!

I think I'm going to go play with the new diaper bag and start packing it for the hospital.

Bible Study System for Kids

I was reading a blog this morning that is hosting a give away for a Child Training Bible. It looks like a really neat system with a color-coded chart and colored sticky tabs. From what I understand, the chart lists different subjects with verses that speak about them. The matching colored sticky tabs are then placed on the page with the verse and the verse is highlighted.

With Arthur now being 7 years old and reading quite well from the Bible, I've been thinking about getting him his own Bible. I've entered the give away for this Child Training Bible system, but I may just have to buy one if I don't win.

But winning is always better. :)

Friday the 13th

No, I don't have anything to say about the "unlucky" day. I'm just ready to be done with this pregnancy. I've spent most of it with swollen ankles and an inability to walk without looking like I need a walker. Maybe I should get a scooter. Oh, and the heartburn has been fun, too.

Brian says that I've gotten bigger with this pregnancy (the tummy, not the over all body) than with the others, and I'm inclined to agree. Funny thing is that I've barely gained any weight. After losing 6 pounds, I have now gained 10. Of course, I'm not complaining. The keeps saying that the weight looks good, so I'll just go with it.

At this point, I have 17 days left before heading to the hospital. I had great plans of finishing projects and such before the birth, but I'm too tired to even try. I will try to have a clean house (dishes done, clutter gone from living room and dining room, laundry taken care of in the bedrooms) but who knows how that will go. Right now, I'm just trying to finish a sewing job and some quilt blocks for a swap.

I didn't get a baby quilt finished for the new baby. Partly because I couldn't settle on what I wanted to make. And one quilt I am working on is giving me great fits in the quilting department. I do, however, have a sock monkey hat, diaper cover and booties finished so the baby won't be completely naked. :)

In Just Four Weeks...

We will soon be holding our newest little Johnson. This pregnancy has been much more exhausting, heart burn inducing, ankle and foot swelling, and lacking in the ability to just move around.

But this makes up for it all.

Because I am over 35 (37, to be exact) the doctor wanted to schedule an ultrasound just to see how things are going with my little wombmate. The technician said that everything looks GREAT and we seem to be right on schedule with the estimated due date. Because my previous two deliveries were C-sections, this one is also going to be a C-section scheduled for May 1.

I'm very excited to be nearing the end! I've gotten much bigger with this baby than with my last two. Bigger in the tummy, not in overall weight. In fact, I'm only 2 pounds over my pre-pregnancy weight. I'm sure I'll put on a few pounds in this last month, but it won't be much.
